It is my pleasure to say a word or two about the outstanding work Dana and Brandi Bates and the Viata Program (under the New Horizons Foundation) in Lupeni are doing to help improve the lives of less fortunate children in Romania.
When I visited their program last year, I was impressed by the "Ropes" course, which teaches specific life skills to children. Dana and Brandi are helping to give an educational perspective that offers hope for young people, which is essential in Romania's difficult transition into a functioning democracy and market economy.
I commend Dana and Brandi on their efforts and hope that they will continue their good work for all children
in Romania.
